Successful Sing Out at Saltgreens Care Home Members is One Acchord travelled to Eyemouth on Friday 5th of June to sing for the residents of Saltgreens Care Home.  One of our members mother is a resident at Saltgreens, where she has been well looked after by the staff. The choir went down to Eyemounth to entertain the residents with a mix of songs from our repetoire. Songs included the beautiful love song Songbird, Beauty and the Beast as well as Be My Guest from Disney, pop songs such as Sweet Dreams, through to the folk song Foreign Lander. To celebrate a successful sing out the choir retired to Eyemouth for ice cream.

Our coaching weekend was fantastic, with the positive, supportive technique queens, Sound Central.   The weekend brought together the three Scottish Ladies Barbershop choirs, One Acchord, Tartan Harmony and Albacapella.   We learned so much about how to improve our singing technique, the most important being singing with small mouths and watching the musical director!   But lots of others to improve our breath control and resonance.  We also had a lot of fun, with great dancing warm ups, singing tags in the sun, and learning how to come to rehearsals with a positive mind set, based on our own 'happy place'.   We had wonderful food provided by Cafe Recharge and home baking from One Acchord's own excellent bakers.   Here is what some people said they enjoyed  "The company, the music, the setting, the food, the accommodation and the excellent level of organisation" "Sound Central brilliant. Excellent tools and crucially when to use them" "Delicious, healthy, ample food. Ethical caterers.
